FAQs

What is the incentive?

It's a NSW government rebate for electric vehicle fleet purchases, as well as charging port installation. Any business operating in NSW with an active ABN that currently operates a fleet of at least 3 non-private vehicles (or 1 commercial truck/taxi) for at least 6 months.

Do we need to already own electric vehicles to apply for the NSW Government grant?
Can we charge different EV vehicle brands on the same chargers?
How long does a commercial charger installation take, and will it cause warehouse downtime?
How much funding can our business claim under the NSW incentive?

Yes. All commercial smart chargers we supply use industry-standard Type 2 (AC) or CCS2 (DC) plugs, making them 100% compatible with all current and future electric vans, utes, trucks, and passenger cars sold in Australia (including Tesla, BYD, Ford, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, and LDV).

Eligible NSW businesses can claim co-funding for up to 15 total vehicles and smart chargers per ABN:

  • Smart AC Charging Ports: Up to $3,000 – $6,000 rebate per port (depending on vehicle class).

  • DC Fast Charging Ports: 50% co-funding up to $30,000 – $60,000 per port.

  • EV Vehicle Purchase Rebates: $5,000 – $8,000 for passenger cars and light commercial vans, and up to $50,000 for commercial heavy trucks.

No. You do not need to have EVs in your driveway today. To qualify for the NSW EV Fleets Kick-start Incentive, your business simply needs an active NSW ABN and an existing operational fleet of at least 3 non-private vehicles (or 1 truck/taxi). Once your grant application is approved, you are issued a Funding Deed and given 100 business days (about 5 months) to place your vehicle order and complete the charger installation

Most standard 3-phase AC fleet charger installations are completed within a single day with minimal to zero disruption to your daily operations. We can schedule switchboard tie-ins and main board work during scheduled operational off-peak hours or weekends to keep your fleet running without interruption.

Who handles the government grant paperwork and compliance certificates?

We do it all for you. As licensed NSW electrical contractors, we supply all necessary single-line technical diagrams, site load calculations, tax invoices, and the required Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work (CCEW) to make claiming your government rebate simple and hassle-free.
